Tristan has been captured by King Kuta!

Tis but a sad day when an unrefined art is unleashed upon it’s medium.  And whilst the fine brush can stroke so gentle, a broad hand shalt never paint the finer details with it. Refinement is the key of any artwork and whilst raw emotion will drive through the meaning, a clumsy hand will make it’s impact obscured — Roareye Black

So when a man claims his key medium, in this case a piece of journalism, is of a fine standard when it lacks the refinement of artistic or journalistic integrity, it is enough to disappoint the communities who appreciate the finer points. Do not feel this is snobbish, my good friends, far from it. Take it as an analysis of a man’s immature interpretation of his work.

Tristan, lavatory cleaner of Fox News and site host of TSSZ News, shot a blow against SSMB’s Roarey Raccoon (Under the name of Roarz) for banning conversation of the deceased Richard Kuta Sonic movie. Whilst some would see the comedy side of the light ribbing, Tristan launched his story with the vision that Roarz had been flaming Kuta. For a man having previously argued with myself about whether or not his website classified as tabloid journalism (Those comments have been deleted from his site since, probably because he lost), it is extremely obvious Tristan has little knowledge of his own chosen artform. While you could suggest his website has a raw artistic merit, the fact is the unrefined and unresearched nature of his posts create tabloid (If any journalistic style is applicable) journalism. This is an arguement he would likely still contest, but one he cannot win unless he changes his posting methods.

The story particularly shows such lack of artistic integrity. Quoting Roarey’s calling of Kuta as “a prat” as if it were a hostile attack, proving Kuta’s failure to grasp the English language in it’s native form. His misunderstanding of local vocabulary (Which makes all the difference when analysing someone’s quote) shows an evident lack of research, as “a prat” is a very comical light ribbing. There is no way to misconstrue the term as a flame. There is no word that Kuta is offended by the post, which shows a lack of tackling the emotional issue (Surely this is only news worthy if the ‘offense’ has offended the person it’s aimed at?) and a lack of communicating to TSS, SSMB or Roarz himself to get a first-party quote on the issue. This mixed with the frequently used “FIRST AT TSSZ” slogan showcases a site that, at it’s best, reaches the status of tabloid journalism and at the lower levels is just childish.

There are several reasons why Tristan has gone out of his way to re-open old wounds with TSS, among them could be the loss of a news writer to TSS (Previously worked on both sites, and has since quit TSSZ). However, Tristan has already begun to cut site comments that were perfectly acceptable under the false pretence of them being “inflammatory”, including a link to a page by Kuta himself talking about his personal likes and dislikes. For a man who’s main purpose with the post was to suggest Roarz was cutting people’s freedom of expression, his own actions are in fact very much the same but much more snide.

It is likely that the issues with Tristan will arise again, especially as SSN rebuilds itself within the TSS Network. We shall just challenge his artistic values on his journalism, as artwork is our key field of focus. And as we will focus on all forms of art, writing is going to be a focus from now on.
