PROFILE
The Royal Shatner's are a band that herald some history within the Sonic community.
They began life in late November 2006 as a two piece band consisting of William Shatner and Ray Clericksson, with Shatner singing the verses and Clericksson singing the main chorus. Communication between the two turned aggressive as they both were dedicated to different musical outlets. William Shatner wanted a more expressive and melodic tone to the choruses, and Clericksson was unable to deliver his usual melodic abilities due to problems with coke addiction.

For the best part of two weeks the Shatner music revival seemed dead, and Shatner hadn't the heart to continue on his own, focussing more on his acting work than on his musical fronture. However on the 14th December 2006, Shatner chanced a meeting with a new producer in the musical field, Turkey C PhD. Having just graduated with a doctorate in the musical sciences, Turkey was a rising musical artist and an inspiration to Shatner's work. Beginning as a producer for Shatner it was soon apparent that without a melodic interlude his rendition of their first song, Can You Feel The Shatner, which was an instant hit with the Sonic fanbase from which the original had derived.
The turkey also filled in the gap left by Clericksson by singing the choruses in the song, which became an instant hit. Critics considered it laughable, but several were charmed by the simplicity and the unique vibrancy of Turkey's singing style, and it managed to reach Number 3 in the charts, also gaining 3rd place in the Sonic Wrecks music competition that year.

On the back of this success, Shatner and Turkey began writing unique lyrics for thier first album, but even between the two of them they found difficulty with certain harmonies. Shatner wasn't a singer as much as he was expressive spoken word and Turkey, while unique, was far too simple for some of the messages they wished to send out. After six months of travelling, they came across an extraordinary twosome band known as The Royal Duo which consisted of Cletus Hillbilly and Mustafa Blackman. The odd, and commonly considered opposite, races and music styles made for a unique display and Shatner had found the creative duo he needed.

After the new band was formed, Blackman wanted to keep the creative title of his previous works, and so the name The Royal Shatner's was formed. In October 2007, Shatner took some time from his busy schedule to work with the four on another track to show off his new band the same way he'd introduced Turkey back in 2006. Shatner In The Sky was the result, a song which took the unique vibrancy of Can You Feel The Shatner and added the unique blend of the high and low pitched tones of Hillbilly and Blackman.
Shatner In The Sky was released into the public domain in several radio previews by new producer, Roareye Black, before it got mass coverage in the Wrecks Factor 2007.

Unfortunately, a little time after starting production of their first studio album, disaster struck the band as Turkey disappeared two days before Thanksgiving. It was later discovered that Sarah Conway in Ohio had spotted the artist catching a train and, in a desperate struggle to find a traditional turkey for Christmas, led him into one of the closed off platforms and killed him.

The band pressed full charges, Shatner making televised appearances to plead the country to take the crime to trial, but the police refused the right to press charges for a killed turkey. Blackman and Hillbilly, previously arguing about their artistic directions, united to create a major poll and headed a minor demonstration outside of the Halls of Congress. The demonstration had little affect in the police's stand, and the trio were left without the ability to take Mrs Conway to court.

Because of this, the band have created several more abrasive songs to their upcoming studio album, including a political stand with "Crisis Turkey", which will differentiate The Royal Shatner's Valentine's album release from the rest of the pack. When questioned, Shatner had this to say; "We all remember Turkey for who he was, and we all felt betrayed by the refusal of a court case. Turkey started something wonderful, and in his memory we will continue to go on."
